A Message From Our Executive Director

As 2013 comes to a close, now is the time to reflect upon all we have accomplished. Have we truly done all that we can for ourselves and our families? Have we gone the extra mile for our friends and our community? Have we stepped out of our comfort zone? Have we done good deeds? Have we been involved in acts of loving kindness? Have we made a difference in the lives of others?

 

         The Road Not Taken

 

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

 

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

 

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

 

I shall be telling this with a sigh

With 2014 upon us, we have the opportunity to look onward at so many new possibilities. As you consider your New Year’s resolutions, and some of us will certainly consider them, just think about one that you truly feel you can keep for all of 2014. Something selfless. Something that truly embodies goodness. Something in this freezing cold weather warms your heart.

 

Take the road less traveled. And just maybe that will make all the difference.
