Jewish Programming

Our Preschool utilizes Jewish programming as a part of meeting the Step Up To Quality standards and curriculum requirements. Following these guidelines, Jewish heritage and tradition is introduced to our preschoolers through song, art, holiday programs, tasting of traditional foods and classroom discussions. Weekly program themes are based upon various aspects of Jewish life and are designed to help reinforce Jewish identity and encourage learning of basic Jewish traditions.

Our Preschoolers build a special relationship with Temple Emanu El’s Rabbi and Cantor. Cantor Malecki teaches a weekly music class, and both Rabbi Denker and Cantor Malecki lead the weekly Shabbat morning program with the children which includes stories, songs and prayers.

We provide a kosher-style menu in which meat and milk are not combined; pork and shellfish are never served; and Passover dietary laws are observed. Snacks and lunch menus are regularly posted on the Parent Information Board. Of course, if your child requires a special diet, we can accommodate your needs upon receiving your physician’s signed statement.
