Mazel Tov Boardman DI

DI BoardmanMazel Tov to Linda and Harvey Boardman, whose grandson, Benjamin, is one of the five-member “More Tape” team that finished 12th in the world in the Destination Imagination (DI) Global finals held recently in Knoxville, Tenn.  DI promotes problem solving through creativity and teamwork.  The team’s challenge: select a work of art from an artist native to a country other than their own and interpret the work through a theatrical presentation.  They selected Don Quixote and the Chariot of Death by Andre Masson.  Ben, age 11, is a 5th grader at Moreland Hills Elementary School.

The finals, the result of winning regional (where Ben’s team took first place in their age group) and state-wide competitions earlier, included more than 1,400 teams representing 48 states, six Canadian provinces and 14 other countries and was attended by upwards of 14,000 people.  Not only was there the thrill of the final result, but Ben and his team got to meet and interact with their “buddy team” comprised of boys and girls, ages 10 – 12, from China.
