Holidays and Festivals

The High Holidays are celebrated with a memorable blend of traditional prayer and inspirational holiday music. Adults and children of all ages are welcome to attend Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur evening and morning services, however, supervised activities and childcare is available for children ages eighteen months to eight years during these services. There is also a lay-led teen service held on Erev Rosh Hashanah.

A Children’s Service, for families with children ages seven and under, is conducted during the afternoon of the holiday.  There is also Youth Service held during the High Holidays for children in grades 1 through 6.

High Holiday tickets are issued to members in good standing. If you will be out of town, Temple Emanu El has a reciprocity agreement with congregations across the country. Our temple office can help you learn if there is access to services in the city you will be visiting.

Special services and family activities are held for Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Purim, Pesach, Shavuot and Chanukah.
