Preschool

Our Jewish-oriented program provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment in which your child, ages 6 weeks through Pre-Kindergarten, learns to play and socialize. Temple Emanu El Preschool includes the use of our private playgrounds, a large muscle room, Hebrew, music and gym classes, daily art, science, math, social studies and literature activities.

Temple Emanu El’s Preschool is a 4-Star Step Up To Quality Star Rated school, which shows that our preschool exceeds Ohio’s childcare licensing standards ranking us among the most highly rated Jewish preschools in the Greater Cleveland Area. What sets us apart from others: (1) our faculty to student ratio; (2) our faculty all have specialized training (including CPR, first aid and child abuse identification and prevention) and take continuing education throughout each year; and (3) our curriculum is aligned with Ohio’s kindergarten readiness requirements.

Our mission is to provide:

• a safe, secure and supportive environment allowing students the opportunity to learn, play and socialize

• age-appropriate activities planned and geared toward the developmental ability of each child to help ensure happy and healthy growth

• challenging and fun-filled experiences to promote positive self-image, intellectual growth and independent strengths making your child eager to return to Temple Emanu El Preschool every day

• personal contact with the Rabbi, as well as classroom activities, which foster a sense of Jewish identity and encourages the learning of basic Jewish traditions

• positive discipline through teaching, guiding and modeling appropriate behaviors

Temple Emanu El Preschool operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Meals and Snacks: Temple Emanu El Preschool provides well-balanced catered lunches daily.  As requested, Temple Emanu El Preschool can offer gluten free, wheat free, soy free, dairy free, egg free and fish free lunches.  Morning and afternoon snacks, reviewed by a registered dietitian, are also served daily. Temple Emanu El is a nut-free facility and does not allow for pork or shellfish to be brought in or served.

Parent Committee: The involvement of parents is key to the success of the Temple Emanu El Preschool.  Parents assist in the planning of the special programs mentioned above, fund raisers, and social programs to meet and get to know other Preschool parents and families.
